Scenes and presets

Scenes

A scene is what the studio shows: one or more bodies, a clip, a room, maybe a wall, bars, an object, sounds and reactions to your touch. Click SCENE in the scene bar (or press Ctrl O) for every scene, as a grid of pictures in three sections:

Rest the pointer on a scene to read what it is. Type in the filter to find one by its name, its words or its tags (wall, couple, interactive...). Picking a scene brings back how you left it.

A scene may use Daz products beyond Starter Essentials. When your library lacks one:

Your own scenes

Each .ts file of your scenes folder is a scene of the list, after ours (see the Scenes tab of the config). A file named like one of ours shows as ~<name>, marked (yours), and never replaces ours. A scene file that fails to load shows its error over the scene list, with the file and the line. See Writing scenes for how to write one.

Presets

A preset is a name and a whole setup of a scene, as you made it: the character and its shape, what the body wears, the room and its light, the turn, the look, the eyes, the clip, its range and its speed, the camera, the object. It does not keep the time in the clip (a preset starts its clip from the beginning), nor what your tools hold.

The preset list is in the scene bar, beside the scene. Click it for your presets in groups, each with its picture and tags that say what sets it apart (its clip, its room, its character, its hair). default is first: every part at its default.

ActionKeyWhat it does
SaveCtrl SSaves the scene over the preset you picked, at once, with a new picture. With no preset picked (default or custom), it asks for a name. A note offers Undo for 5 seconds.
Save asCtrl Shift SSaves under a new name. It suggests the next free one (walk-2 after walk-1). A name that exists asks once more: Replace?
DiscardDrops your changes and goes back to the preset as saved. Undo is offered after.
RenameF2Renames the picked preset, its picture with it.
DeleteThe trash: a first click arms it (red), a second deletes. Undo is offered after.

A * after the preset's name means the scene differs from the saved preset; moving the camera counts. Your presets and their pictures live in your profile's presets folder (see Profiles).
